novice obedience
This is a 7-Lesson course that teaches your dog the basics of obedience. The course starts with a video orientation which covers topics such as what to have for training; leashes and collars; my method and some key points; and some recommendations for around the house. Following the orientation, the 7 lessons are all done in person and I will have at least one of my dogs at all the lessons to act as a demonstration dog and to offer visual distraction for your own dog. The beginning of the course focuses on understanding Marker training and leash pressure before transitioning to using correction once the dog learns what is expected from them. During this course your dog will learn: sit at heel position; sit to be pet; the PLACE command; a release command; heeling on a loose leash with right and left turns; the LOOK command;; the OUT command; down at heel position; sit stay; down stay; recall (come when called); and the stand command. The course includes video companions and a comprehensive PDF for all the lessons and I offer ongoing support through text and email.. There is a review and certificate upon completion of the course.

intermediate OBEDIENCE
This is a one year membership to the weekly Pack Walk that begins with 6 lessons to introduce Novice graduates to a new set of drills and increases the distraction. All the lessons are done as “field trips” to various locations in the Niagara region. Although the student will learn many new drills, the main purpose of intermediate training is to distraction proof your dog and generalize their commands. The lessons are done as part of Pack Walk with other Intermediate students at various stages of their training. The added distraction of more dogs and working in new environments ensures that your dog will listen to you under all circumstances. At the completion of the 6 lessons, the student is given a free one year membership to my weekly Intermediate Pack Walk to keep honing their skills.
Cost of the course is $700 including HST and comes with a 15’ long line; TDT T-shirt; and 1 year membership in the Pack Walks.
puppy and/or behaviour consultation
This is an information session to cover problems that you may be having with your dog. We sit down together and discuss your list of problem behaviour which could range from housebreaking and crate training; jumping on people; stealing laundry; nipping; excessive barking; aggression towards humans and other dogs; etc… Typically a consultation lasts approximately 90 minutes and during that time I would give you 2 or 3 solutions for each of your problem behaviours. After a consultation many people decide to try the tools and techniques I have given them on their own while others may decide to enrol in one of our courses to further their training.
Cost is $150 including HST OR $85 including HST for Zoom
ecollar consultation (includes ecollar)
Designed to get you started with Ecollar training and specifically geared towards student who want to use the collar for behavioural issues in the home. The consultation will teach you about the Mini Educator and its functions; explain my philosophy on Ecollar training; and get some baseline levels for your dog. Great for solving problems like stealing laundry; jumping on the counter; excessive barking; jumping on people; etc…Includes the industry standard Mini Educator 1/2 mile remote collar by Ecollar Technologies. For dogs 6 months and older.
Cost is $400 including HST and the Mini Educator ($275 value)
behaviour modification course
Centered around the use of the Mini Educator remote controlled electronic collar, this is a 6 lesson course designed to give the student the knowledge of the tools and techniques necessary to continue to work with their dog on solving their behavioural issues. These could range from over excitement when meeting people and other dogs to human/dog aggression. The student learns the LOOK command and RECALL pairing them with the Mini Educator. During the practical lessons, scenarios are re-created with the help of my team of volunteers so that we can work on desensitizing your dog to the things that cause them to react. At the core of the course is a system of counterconditioning to help your dog through their triggers.
Cost of the course is $950 including HST. Included in the price of the course are the Mini Educator with upgrades ($310 value); and 33’ long line.
reliable recall (off leash)
Teach your dog to come when called off-leash using the Mini Educator by Ecollar Technologies. This 5 lesson course is designed to give your dog the freedom they deserve while at the same time giving you the control to call them back to you from ANY situation. Each lesson progresses both in technique and distraction level so that by the end of the course you can be confident that your dog will listen, no matter what!
Cost of the course is $800 including HST. Included in the price of the course is the Mini Educator collar including upgrades to titanium contact posts and bungee strap ($310 value); 33’ tracking line; and an 7” tab for eventual off-leash work.
advanced off-leash training course
This is an comprehensive 13 lesson course that combines Intermediate drills; reliable recall training; and advanced off-leash obedience using the Mini Educator by Ecollar Technologies. The lessons will all be done as “field trips” to work on distraction proofing your dog. You will transition through learning all the Intermediate drills while at the same time teaching your dog off-leash recall. The course then focuses on teaching your dog off-leash obedience under high distraction. Upon completion of the course, the student receives LIFETIME membership in my weekly pack walk so that they can continue working their dog in high distraction environments.
Cost of the course is $1,400 including HST. Included in the price of the course is the Mini Educator collar including titanium posts ($285 value); 15’ long line; 33’ tracking line; an 7” tab for eventual off-leash work; TDT T-shirt; and lifetime membership in the Pack Walks.
SCENT DETECTION COURSE
This course is designed as an introduction to sport detection. The course focuses on teaching your dog to find essential oils, setting them up for future competition. Although mainly designed for sport, the course also includes elements of “real life” scent detection and is a fun way for you to engage with your dog. This is a group class, however; class size is limited to 4 students to give everyone a chance to practice effectively. The course takes place in Fonthill and is run every two weeks for 8 sessions.

COMING IN FALL/WINTER 2023: PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINER SHADOW PROGRAM
Comprehensive Professional Dog Trainer Shadow program. The course will be a combination of theory and hands-on learning. Students will have a weekly theoretical session and will be required to shadow at least two lessons per week. Ideal candidates would have their own dog and will learn how to train them from scratch. All aspects of dog training will be taught so that successful graduates will be able to make an informed decision on what type of business they want to have. Among the things taught will be: how dogs learn including Classical Conditioning and Operant Conditioning; different styles of training; tools used in training; Behaviour Modification; Scent Detection; website design; promotion; business management and taxes.
